Kaleidoscope - L’Anse Educational Learning Opportunities meet once a week at 830 Main Street in L’Anse and include interactive activities and projects led by an instructor in a small group setting.

Kaleidoscope - Hancock Educational Learning Opportunities meet once a week at 417 Quincy Street in Hancock, on the 4th floor of Hirvonen Hall, and interactive activities and projects led by an instructor in a small group setting.

What can I expect in a Kaleidoscope Virtual Elective?

Our Virtual Electives are meant to provide a framework for activities that your student might expand on at home or in the community. They include resource ideas and regular instructor/student communication through the virtual learning management platform Seesaw, as well as an in-person class. Students log into Seesaw each week and complete an activity, usually using a virtual resource. They can choose to do this on their own time or during a Hands-On class time, if they are enrolled in a Hands-On ELO. Instructors communicate with students about their completed activities via Seesaw.

Once the school year begins you will have access to the following:

  • Syllabus
This includes a class description, objectives, a general learning plan, and an assessment plan.
  • Seesaw Account
Kaleidoscope will provide each student with a Seesaw account, which will give them access to the virtual content for their class.
  • Technical Support
Kaleidoscope staff is available via phone or email to help you through any technical issues that come up.
  • Resource Support
Kaleidoscope staff is available via phone or email to help you build resources to use at home and expand on the virtual content to create more in-depth at-home studies.
  • Kaleidoscope Newsletter and Events
Kaleidoscope members receive a monthly newsletter as well as priority access to any community events offered through Kaleidoscope.
