The Michigan Girls Future Flight Challenge is a free 4-week virtual state-wide aerospace competition and mentoring opportunity hosted by the Women of the Aerospace Industry Association of Michigan (WAIAM). Girls in grades 4-8 will work in teams of two to six members to design a sustainable, unique form of flight to solve a pre-provided challenge statement. Each team will receive mentoring from a professional woman who works in the aerospace industry. The participants will follow a detailed curriculum that awards points each step of the way. Every participant will receive a tee shirt and WAIAM will award prizes valued up to $1,000 for the top teams.
Last year, a group of Kaleidoscope students won this competition and had a blast doing it! This year, Kaleidoscope will host teams in Hanockc and L'Anse. The competition takes place October 12th-Nov 9th, 2024 but teams can register soon. Sign up with Kaleidoscope today and we will help you find a team and get you registered with WAIAM!
