Ages: 9+
Available: Summer
L'Anse: Wednesday 8:45 -10:45
Instructor(s): Angie Vizina
Join Angie Vizina and a great group of kids to hike and learn about the natural wonders of our area. This class will be an exploration deep into the animal life, vegetation, fungi and natural geological formations of our unique region. We will adventure to places like Silver Mountain in Baraga County, Four Mile Rock in Ontonagon County, and Chassell’s Sturgeon River Sloughs in Houghton County.
We will meet at various hiking trails in the L'Anse and surrounding areas. Parents will need to provide transportation or arrange for carpooling. Angie will communicate with parents weekly about the upcoming meeting locations.
Come prepared for a hike with hiking boots or shoes, a back pack with light snacks, a water bottle, bug spray, sunscreen, rain jacket or poncho, and a small first aid kit. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather.
This will be an in-depth exploration, and the majority of class time will be spent hiking. A lot of our hikes will be up hills, so some physical strength and endurance is absolutely necessary. Parents are welcome and encouraged to explore with us.
Summer Classes are $80 for an 8-week course that runs beginning the week of July 7th and ending August 27th.
